Rapper T.I., who is currently on probation after spending some time in jail on gun charges, was arrested along with his wife on drug charges after police smelled alleged marijuana coming from their car, as authorities have reported. The Wednesday night arrests for possession of a controlled substance happened in West Hollywood during a traffic stop, Los Angeles sheriff’s deputy Mark Pope told The Associated Press. “Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” the department said. “A narcotics investigation ensued” that resulted in the arrests. While details are sketchy as of press time, the arrest could impact T.I. tremendously. He faces the risk of this arrest leading to a violation of probation. He was recently released from Federal prison after doing time for possessing an illegal firearm and possessing a gun as a convicted felon. He is currently serving a three-year probation after he pleaded guilty for those charges in May of 2009. T.I. and Tiny were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station. Bail was set at $10,000 each.

Singer Fantasia Barrino was taken to a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital on Monday night. As revealed by news network CNN, she had overdosed on “aspirin and a sleep aid”. The incident happened the same day she read a court complaint from a Paula Cook, who alleged that Fantasia had a yearlong affair with her husband, Antwaun Cook according to her manager Brian Dickens. “Her injuries are not life threatening,” Dickens said. “She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time.” She was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday, he said. Fantasia publicly acknowledged the affair in a statement Tuesday issued by Dickens that said “Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and believed that he loved her.” Photos of Barrino and Cook were published online in recent months, prompting questions about their relationship. Her second album, which has received favorable reviews, will be released on August 24, while the second season of her reality show debuts next month.
