Der in Kingston, Jamaika geborene Sean Paul veröffentlicht bei uns in Deutschland, am Freitag den 17. Februar, sein fünftes Album. Die Producer waren unter anderem: Rico Love, Benny Blanco, Akon, er selbst und Stargate. Letztere sind auch für die erste Single “Got 2 Luv U” (ft. Alexis Jordan) verantwortlich. Aktuell läuft gerade die zweite Single-Auskopplung “She Doesn´t Mind” in den Clubs und Radios. Gefeatured werden auf dem Album noch Kelly Rowland und DJ Ammo. Trotzdem knüpft er an sein Top 20 Album “Imperial Blaze” an, indem er auf eine Mischung aus Dancehall, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop und Dance setzt.

Den ersten großen Erfolg hatte Sean Paul mit seinem Album “Dutty Rock”, aus dem Jahr 2002. Die Single “Get Busy” konnte sich 21 Wochen auf Platz drei der Charts halten. Das Album bekam außerdem einen Grammy in der Kategorie “Bestes Reggae Album”. Es folgten Features mit Künstlern wie Busta Rhymes, Blu Cantrell, Carlos Santana, Rihanna, Eve und noch zahlreichen anderen. Nach “Get Busy” ist “Got 2 Luv U” nun seine erfolgreichste Single hier in Deutschland.

Der 25-jährige Mario veröffentlicht im Februar sein nun fünftes Album, sieben Tage vor dem Valentinstag. Viel ist noch nicht bekannt aber es wird auf RCA Records (u.a. Zusammenschluss von Arista, Jive und J Records; Tochter v. Sony) erscheinen. Er soll nach eigenen Angaben versucht haben wieder mehr Club-Songs unterzubringen. Die offizielle Single “The Walls” (ft. Fabolous) ist seit Ende letzten Jahres bei uns erhältlich.

Auf seinem YouTube Kanal gibt Mario einige Einblicke in die Studio-Arbeit und auch Hörproben zu seinem kommenden Mixtape “Truth Be Told”.

“Let Me Love You” aus dem Jahr 2005 hielt sich bei uns 15 Wochen auf Platz 1 der Charts. Auch das dazugehörige Album “Turning Point” war sein bisher größter Chart-Erfolg hier in Deutschland.

DJ-League: Tell us, in a few sentences, who You are !
DJ Short-Cut: My name is DJ Short-Cut from the Main-Business-Crew and the BACKSPIN DJ-Team. I come from the MSP-Area near Würzburg. Prefered, I play Club-Sounds, Dirty-South, Dancehall and much more. But my heart still beats for the Rap of the Golden-Era. I like to play this stuff, too. I produce my own Mixtapes, Radioshows, Remixes and Snippets. Also I am djing live for my Rap-Crew Main-Business behind the turntables and make recordings with them.

DJ-League: What Do You like most at Your work as a dj ?
DJ Short-Cut: I like mostly about the work as a DJ, to give the people a good time and a good party and being part of the Hip-Hop-Community.

DJ-League: You are a part of the dj-league, what do You like at the dj-league ?
DJ Short-Cut: I am part of the DJ-League because I like to connect with other DJs and Acts and I will show me and my productions on this plattform.

DJ-League: What was your greatest experience as dj ?
DJ Short-Cut: I can’t pick the biggest experience. There was a lot of good partys or moments. Especially the positive feedback from Hip-Hop-Heads or Party-People is always a positive experience for me as a DJ.

DJ-League: What are Your targets as a dj ?
DJ Short-Cut: My targets are to get at still more people with my Mixtapes, Radioshows and Productions. Certainly i will expand my connections and will more getting booked in clubs.

In dem 1. Event dieser neuen Veranstaltungsreihe des Erlanger Jugend & Kulturvereins dreht sich, wie der Name schon sagt, alles um Hip-Hop. Den ganzen Abend über verteilt, werden namenhafte Künstler der Region nacheinander im Kamikatze in Erlangen auftreten und Euch beim Feiern mit den besten Beats und Raps unterhalten ! Wichtig bei der Auswahl der Acts ist es, vorallem qualitativ hochwertigen, lokalen Musikern eine Chance zu geben sich live auf der Bühne zu beweisen. Den Live-DJ-Support nimmt DJ-League DJ Short-Cut. Also unbedingt vorbeischauen. Es wird ein mal richtig phatter Abend.
